Standard some first AMD Deneb teasers on Foxconn A79A-S 790FX

Hi,

maybe it is good to start my own "teaser collection" on my good old Foxconn A79(A)-S and P05 Bios as I just passed 32m 210 HTT 3.9 gig on air. All results are with no ACC as it is not working yet. Hoping for a bios update.

3.3 gig undervolted and running wprime1024 (it passed but so you can see load temps)

Wprime1024 with only +0.1V on 3.8gig quickly - time is not too bad I can tell you

4 gig 32m without ACC and some voltage. So far I remark a good scaling.

4 gig 1m 1.44V CPU :

235 HTT 1m (225 will do it for 32m)

quick 32m here - it goes higher until 1.7V. for more LN2 would be good, this likes cold as hell. I am running against a wall around 5 gig but still awesome

Hi...

My second Post in this Forum..First Thing i noticed is the smiley collection

....

@SoF

Can you make a quick test with Cinebench R10 on Vista 32 Bit @ 4.0 ghz?
On the Austin Dragon tech Day they all had Problems benchmarking CB R10 above certain Clockspeeds..

Greetings!

Thx for your welcome...

Very nice results particularly on DICE
The results under cold are really nice..
Thanks for sharing....

I also have an idea about the CPU-Z Validation Process with Phenom!. I had the same Problems with all my K10 Processors...
Maybe it will help to turn off AMD Overdrive during the Validation Process.
Some people had big Problems, just Overclocking with AOD when CPU-Z ist started.

I hope you understand my dreadful english

Greetings!

Yeah I read about the AOD problem but I set my clocks, close AOD and open CPUz - yesterday it failed until 4.8 which should be absolutely fine for validation. I can't boot with high multi out of the bios as it well set 1x under cold for some reason ^^ can't find any option regarding temperature throttling but with "auto" it boots fine and I have to use AOD for high clocks.

Your english is fine m8

Seems that you have many fun this time I'm wondering that they're running so good under cold Did you have a chance to handle him under LN?

first LN2 tests with AMD Phenom II in Germany by AwardFabrik and benchbrothers.de

With my friends from www.benchbrothers.de which have also one of the few Denebs in Germany I met today 120km away from my home to quickly test some Denebs with 25 LN2.
1. pic: left my system, right musicismylife (jens) on his one 2. pic: Masterchorch doing old school hardware benching with some "different" DICE cooling (no pics unfortunatly)

Normally I wanted to test 3x4870 and finally break 100k in 03 with full AMD but for some reason the score with my driver was terrible and trying to install the new one ended up with a totally messed up gpu driver. I also had this kinda think during G|C - starts to get on my nerves with thoose ATI driver *****

So I started LN2 the first time and when I did 5390 1m I thought it might be good to go out for a smoke. afterwards system was frozen and did not wanted to boot anymore. CPU was stuck to the pot for around 2 hours ^^

After some time in the oven I tried with 3-4l LN2 again and did following things:

I had to leave then but the benchbrothers already did 5.7gig while I was almost leaving - think they will beat me easy : There was one main difference to notice: I had to run HT 2.0 as A79A-S is missing an option to change this until now. in overdrive I can only use 6x at lowest - but even with that I could run -155°C at 1.85V without a problem. -160°C it freezed. jens and hoschi could run -195°C on destroyer with ht link 1.0 and 5x multiplier. problem with destroyer is the missing AOD and the aegis panel won't work good else this combo would have a lot more in it. for the moment I say A79A-S is the better foxconn board under cold for deneb. on air the destroyer seemed a bit better.
6 gig is definitly doable - I hadn't the time to go for 1.9V+ but I don't expect that much more from more voltage. maybe a better bios, different ram, lower htt (I was running 220 all the time for some performance) could improve stability but that's for next time only one thing is for sure: AMD loves cold again!!!
